Swimming in Silvaplana's bathing lakes
In addition to the large, well-known lakes such as Lake Silvaplana, the Upper Engadin lake landscape also offers great, small mountain lakes for swimming and bathing. Lej Marsch, Lej Nair and Lej Zuppo are hidden in a small wood above Surlej on the way to St. Moritz. They are easily accessible - whether on foot on a leisurely walk, by bike or e-bike.

Lej march
Lej Marsch is a moor lake and probably the most famous of the bathing lakes. There are fire pits, picnic areas, sunbathing lawns, and restrooms on site. The small sandy beach even brings a beach feeling to the mountain lake. And a jetty allows the daring to jump into the cool water.
Lej Nair
If you're looking for some peace and quiet, Lej Nair is just the place for you. The mystical Schwarzsee lake is just a ten-minute walk above Lej Marsch and is easily accessible on foot or by bike from Surlej. There is a fire pit with firewood by the lake.
Lej Zuppo
Lej Zuppo is the smallest of the three mountain lakes. "Zuppo" is Rhaeto-Romanic and means hidden. Is the lake so named because it is hidden in the forest above Lej Nair? Or is it because it sometimes has almost no water after hot summer days?
There is also a barbecue area with firewood at Lej Zuppo.
Lej dals Chöds
Lake Hahnensee lies at 2,153 meters above sea level in the municipalities of Silvaplana and St. Moritz. Only the brave venture into the cool waters of this moor lake.
Next to a fireplace, the Hahnensee mountain restaurant invites you to enjoy some refreshments.
