Highlight of a successful week of musicals

Monday, 20. July 2020

The first master class for musical performers came to a crowning conclusion on Friday 17 July with the open-air concert "Not dal Musical" on the Plazza dal Güglia in Silvaplana. 21 participants benefited from the knowledge of the top-class management team and are one step closer to a successful musical career.

For five days 21 young and motivated, already trained musical actors from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands deepened their skills in acting and singing in the midst of the inspiring mountain world of Silvaplana. The artistic direction team, consisting of the German author and director Gil Mehmert, the Dutch conductor and arranger Koen Schoots and the Dutch singing teacher Edward Hoepelman, trained the skills of the young artists in the scenic work on duets, singing coaching and professional lectures. The Musical Campus 3303 was concluded with the open-air concert "Not dal Musical" on Friday 17 July 2020. The participants showed the visitors on the Plazza dal Güglia in the village centre of Silvaplana what they had learned from the master class and were rewarded with due applause.

"Together with the municipality of Silvaplana, we have succeeded in establishing the Musical Campus 3303 as the first master class for musical performers in the German-speaking world. With Gil Mehmert, Koen Schoots and Edward Hoepelman we have won a top-class team for the artistic direction. With the Musical Campus we can not only promote young up-and-coming artists and support them in their career development, but also expand our pool of performers at the Theater St. Gallen," says Werner Signer, Managing Director of the Theater St. Gallen.

Daniel Bosshard, mayor of Silvaplana, adds: "After this first successful implementation, we want to continue the Musical Campus 3303 together with Theater St. Gallen in the coming years".
