Welcome to the third station of Silvaplana Explorer and listen to the story of our marmot Niculin.
Niculin meets friends who help him search for his family. Get to know Ursina, the squirrel, and Corsin, the nutcracker, on Niculin's search. They give Niculin valuable tips.

Want to know what happens next? Go to the next viewpoint, Crap Alv, where you will find the continuation of the story.
The beginning of the tourism boom
After just two years of construction, the first section of the Corvatsch aerial cableway was opened in March 1963 and the second section in December. The sports mountain was finally accessible! Six previous attempts had failed. Today, around 1200 people per hour can be transported up the mountain.
The Bernina massif on one side, the Upper Engadin lake district on the other and a view of a thousand and one Alpine peaks: hiking on Corvatsch - Furtschellas is rewarding. The water trail is ideal for families, the Via Gastronomica for foodies and the panoramic trail for those seeking far-reaching views. The Hahnensee hike from Corvatsch to St. Moritz is a classic.

Water trail: circular trail along six mountain lakes
The water trail is a hiking highlight on Corvatsch. From the Furtschellas middle station (2312 m above sea level), the 2 ½ hour circular hike leads past six crystal-clear mountain lakes.
The trail first heads towards Alp Munt, then branches off to the left and climbs steeply for a short while. The effort is soon rewarded and the first of six mountain lakes becomes visible, the Lejin Cristal. This is followed by the Lejin Magnetit, the Lejin Malachit, the Lejin Rhodonit, the Lejin S-chaglia and finally the Lejin Epidot. A constant companion on this family-friendly circular hike is the view up to the icy pinnacles and rocky flanks of the Corvatsch massif.
